LAGRANGEVILLE – The president of Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie has been named the new president of Health Quest, the hospital’s parent company. Robert Friedberg, with over 30 years of healthcare management experience, joined the system in January 2014.
Current president Luke McGuiness will remain on as CEO.
As president of Vassar Brothers, Friedberg oversaw the planning of the proposed $466 million, 595,000 square foot, seven-story inpatient pavilion. That project recently received a certificate of need from the state Department of Health. The project is scheduled for groundbreaking next summer.
As part of the transition, Ann McMackin has been named the new president of Vassar Brothers. She most recently served as vice president of operations at the hospital.
The Health Quest network also includes Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck and Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel. It also operates several Health Quest Medical Practice primary care and specialty locations, two urgent care locations and affiliates including the Thompson House skilled nursing facility on the Northern Dutchess Hospital campus, Health Quest Home Care and The Heart Center.
