GOSHEN – Governor Cuomo’s
plan to expedite medical marijuana treatment is being praised by Orange
County Executive Steven Neuhaus. One of the medical marijuana grow facilities
approved for New York is in Orange County.  No facility has opened
yet but one is under construction in Orange County.
The new measure approved by the governor will allow persons to purchase medical marijuana from other legal sources for the time being. Neuhaus said that is very important for those who need it.
“I have moms who have kids who are suffering from serious ailments that are either buying things on the black market or their loved ones and their children in this particular situation are continuing to suffer,” Neuhaus said.  “That’s not what our society is about. I am very pleased to see that he signed this. This will allow them to get relief and they don’t have to wait for these medical marijuana sites that were selected and are under construction right now to be in operation.”
