Esopus residents arrested following drug investigation

KINGSTON –
The URGENT Task Force has arrested two Esopus residents on drug Charles
following an investigation from several residents in the area and other
information pertaining to suspected drug activity at 206 Gurney Street
in Port Ewen.

Authorities executed a search warrant following an investigation that
included purchases of heroin from the residence. The raid in the early
morning of Friday, November 13, turned up several diverted pharmaceuticals,
ecstasy, over one ounce of marijuana, packaging materials, scales and
roughly $2,200 in cash.

The homeowner, Susan Whalen, 48, was charged with felony criminal nuisance
and misdemeanors of criminal possession of drugs and criminally using
drug paraphernalia.

Another resident of the home, Matthew Felton, Jr., 35, was charged with
two counts of felony drug possession and criminally using drug paraphernalia,
obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, and criminal
possession of marijuana.

Whalen was released to reappear in town court and Felton was remanded
to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
