TARRYTOWN – Medical research and development company Regeneron celebrated its medical advancements and the opening of its new laboratories in Westchester County.
Governor Andrew Cuomo attended the Thursday event hailing the company’s
successes, noting his late father, former Governor Mario Cuomo, secured
early state funding for its research.
Congresswoman Nita Lowey called Regeneron a partnership between government and the private sector.
Founder and company President Len Schleifer celebrated the new facility, company employees and their successes.
“I hope to be around long enough to see many more great products invented in these new labs making a difference for patients and perhaps I will be around long enough to reminisce about this day with a third Governor Cuomo,” Schleifer said.
Two patients with rare maladies spoke saying Regeneron’s research and development of new medicines cured their illnesses and saved their lives.
