POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie was arrested by Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies for felony DWI for driving drug with a two-year-old child in the car.
Obed Mata, 24, was observed at around 4 a.m. on November 8 during a STOP-DWI patrol on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. He was charged under Leandra’s Law for driving drunk with the child in the car. He was also charged with misdemeanors of DWI and aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or more.
Mata is in the Dutchess County Jail pending a future court appearance.
