KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston arrested a local man on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges against Kariym Charles, 28, stem from a November 3 incident at an Elmendorf Street residence.
Police said the 34-year-old victim was strangled unconscious by Charles during a domestic dispute. She was treated at the scene by EMS personnel who transported her to a local hospital for treatment after which she was released.
Charles was charged with child endangerment because two children, ages six and 12, were home at time and witnessed the incident.
