Molinaro surrounded by jubilant supporters
POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro defeated his challenger, Diane Jablonski, to win a second four-year term.
Molinaro told supporters late Tuesday night that he is proud of the work that his administration has accomplished and he will continue it going forward.
“Over the next four years we will continue to honestly and earnestly confront problems, overcome challenges, focus on growing our economy, attracting and expanding businesses, and holding the line on taxes so that we can maintain a great quality of life for the people who live here,” he said.
Molinaro said he conducted a “positive issue-based campaign.”
Republicans appear to have strengthened their majority on the county legislature but some contests are still too close to call, as of early this morning.
