KINDERHOOK – A 10-month-old baby, who was a rear seat passenger in a car, was killed Monday evening when two cars crashed head-on on Route 9 and Rapp Road in Kinderhook.
State Police from the Livingston barracks said investigation revealed that a car driven by Lucas Manning, 33, of Hudson, was southbound on Route 9 and crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, striking a northbound SUV driven by Sai Htwe, 34, of Albany. The baby was in the SUV. Police did not immediately release the child’s name.
Four other people involved in the two-car collision suffered non-life threatening injuries.
State Police were assisted by Niverville Fire Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.
