BRIARCLIFF MANOR – The SPCA of Westchester and Yonkers Police arrested a Yonkers man for leaving his two dogs in an unoccupied apartment without adequate food or water. Nicholas Kolmer, 23, was charged with two counts of animal cruelty.
Police were alerted to the situation after receiving a call that a foul odor was emanating from Kolmer’s residence and that urine and feces from the dogs were seeping into the apartment below, causing damage.
Two young, adult female pit bulls were discovered in the apartment without water or food. They were covered in their own waste and wee emaciated.
The dogs were treated for their dehydration, loss of weight and skin infections and are not available for adoption.
