Airmont man suffers smoke inhalation in fire

AIRMONT – Fire just before
8:30 p.m. on Wednesday damaged a home at 8 Fairview Terrace in Airmont
and resulted in the sole occupant sustaining smoke inhalation. The fire
is believed to have started in a car in the garage, police said.
Ramapo Town Police said the 65-year-old man was transported by Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ramapo Police Detective Bureau, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI Unit and Village of Airmont fire inspector.
Tallman, Suffern, Mahwah, Hillburn and Monsey fire departments responded to the scene along with Ramapo Valley Ambulance and Rockland Paramedic Services.
