KINGSTON – More homes were sold in Ulster County in September than the same month last year, according to the county’s Board of Realtors.
A total of 142 houses sold last month compared with 118 during September 2014. For the first nine months of this year, home sales totaled 1,012 compared with 906 last year.
The average price of a home was $234,069 this September compared with $228,779 during the same month last year, but year to date, the average selling price fell from $239,318 compared with $195,000 in the same nine-month period in 2014.
Houses are selling faster this year, with the number of days on the market this September at 127, compared with 147 in September 2014. Year to date, homes were on the market for 151 days, compared with 157 last year.
Available listings dropped this September to 1,271 from 1,569 during the same month last year.
