Fatal crash on Newburgh’s uptown Broadway

NEWBURGH – The front seat
passenger in a car that was making a u-turn across upper Broadway in Newburgh
Wednesday afternoon was killed when an oncoming vehicle slammed into the
side of the car.

City Police Chief Daniel Cameron said a westbound vehicle was in the area
of 435 Broadway at 1:48 p.m. when it crossed into the eastbound lanes
attempting to park on the south side of Broadway. An eastbound vehicle
struck the passenger side of the crossing vehicle. The front seat passenger
died.

Reconstruction crews spent the remainder of the afternoon on the scene.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
