Elmsford man charged with murder and attempted murder

WHITE PLAINS – An Elmsford man was arraigned on charges that he snuck up behind two men sitting in a parked car in Yonkers this past summer and shot both of them in the head. One man died; the other survived, but with serious injuries.
Dontae Degree, 29, was charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
On August 25 at about 1:35 p.m., Degree allegedly crept up behind their car and fired several shots at them.
Kenneth Hill, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was killed. Roylin Fairclough was wounded.
Hill was shot in the head, neck and spinal cord. Fairclough was shot in the head, right shoulder and back.
Degree, who was arrested on October 19, faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
