PORT JERVIS – City officials in Port Jervis would like to cut through all of the red tape in their efforts to develop a whitewater park on the Delaware River.
The latest stumbling block is the US Fish and Wildlife Service, which wanted a lengthy list of questions answered by Port Jervis officials, said Mayor Kelly Decker.
“I received a message from our engineers that the Fish and Wildlife Service has not responded so I contacted Senator Schumer’s Office and Congressman Maloney’s office and both of them sent me messages back that they are working on that situation right now,” Decker said.
Both federal lawmakers are behind the project and are lending their support to it.
