Person dies in Arlington house fire

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE –
A fire in a residence at 10 McKinley Lane in the Town of Poughkeepsie
Monday night claimed one life.

Arlington firefighters were called to the single-family home at around
10:40 p.m. and while extinguishing the blaze found an unresponsive occupant
inside. Advanced live support efforts were initiated and the patient was
transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital by Arlington Fire District
Paramedics where the individual was later pronounced dead, said Chief
Tory Gallante.
The victim’s name was not immediately made public.

Arlington was assisted at the scene of the two-alarm fire by the City
of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley and LaGrange fire departments, Mobile
Life Support Services, Town of Poughkeepsie Police and Building departments,
Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response and Central Hudson.

The Roosevelt, New Hamburg and LaGrange fire departments were on standby.

The fire was under control in about 45 minutes.

The cause is under investigation by the Arlington Fire Investigation Division
and Poughkeepsie Town Police.
