Amedore (right): “… important that we all come together …”

KINGSTON – It was back on August 22 that Ryan Kelder of Saugerties
died of a heroin overdose. On Sunday, hundreds of people participated
in a Raising Your Awareness about Narcotics walk/run in his memory at
Loughran Park in Kingston.
State Senator George Amedore participated and noted the importance of keeping drug addiction awareness on the front of everyone’s consciousness.
“One of the most important things that we can do to combat the heroin epidemic and educate and raise awareness is events like Ryan’s Walk are so important to do just that,” Amedore said. “It is important that we all come together as a community to offer support for those who are dealing with addiction or have friends and families who are dealing with addiction.”
Kelder was 24 at the time of his death.
