Man charged with illegal gun possession

NEWBURGH – Police in the City of Newburgh arrested a man on a charge of illegal weapon possession and reckless endangerment following a report of gunshots.
Police Chief Daniel Cameron said the incident occurred at City Terrace and First Street overnight on Friday when they were called out for a report of shots fired and people running from the scene.
Officers caught one man, whose name has not been released. No weapon was immediately found but investigation later turned up a handgun.
