Property tax rebates announced for Ulster residents along with tax levy reduction

KINGSTON – The state Division
of Budget has approved Ulster County’s Government Efficiency Plan
securing property tax rebates for county taxpayers, County Executive Michael
Hein said Tuesday.
He said the plan outlines the county’s commitment to achieving recurring savings totaling over $47.4 million, $45 million over the required savings target, through consolidations, shared services, mergers and efficiency actions.
County Commissioner of Finance and Budget Director Burt Gulnick said the actions outlined in the government efficiency plan include reorganization of program offices, entering into shared service agreements for road maintenance and implementation of the county’s new financial management system.
