TOWN OF WALLKILL – This summer Wallkill officials went to Wisconsin to meet with waterpark operators in an effort to lure them to develop facilities in their community.
They came back encouraged and within the last month or so, two of those Wisconsin operators came east to check out possible locations in the Orange County town.
Town Supervisor Daniel Depew is becoming more enthused about the prospects.
“We were told directly by them when they came out here was that the only reason why they came to the Town of Wallkill here in Orange County, New York was because us going out there put us on the map with them,” he said. “They are planning over the next couple of years to do expansion. We put Orange County on the map by taking Wallkill out to them and they were very pleased to come out our way and very pleased with the site once they were able to have boots on the ground and see what we were telling them physically.”
Depew said a town delegation will be returning to Wisconsin to further their lobbying efforts to attract a waterpark to the Mid-Hudson Valley.
