MONTICELLO – Police continue to follow leads into last Monday’s shooting death of Michael Northcote, 34, whose body was found at 177 Cohen and Cohen Road in Swan Lake.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene where Northcote was found at around 9:49 p.m. on October 12.
An autopsy revealed Northcote died from gunfire.
Undersheriff Eric Chaboty said that the investigation tends to indicate that the shooting was not a random incident; however, “residents are still encouraged to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons or activity immediately by calling 911.”
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the shooting with the State Police BCI, Troop F Forensic Unit, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the District Attorney’s Office.
