Several Republicans had their say outside the hotel

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – State Senate Democratic Minority Leader Andrea
Stewart-Cousins of Yonkers told Latino Democrats of Orange County Saturday
night that she wants to lead the charge to take back control of the house.
Stewart-Cousins addressed party faithful at a dinner Saturday night in the Town of Newburgh.
As the event was going on at a hotel, Republicans stood along Route 300 with signs accusing the Senate Democrats of being puppets of New York City.
Stewart-Cousins said party leaders from Albany will be standing with local Democrats in hopes of recapturing the Senate majority.
Senators William Larkin, John Bonacic and Susan Serino, all Republicans, represent portions of the Mid-Hudson Valley in Albany.
