Chikotas
MILLBROOK – A Millbrook man is in the Dutchess County Jail on felony assault charges following a domestic violence incident in which his victim was injured.
State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Andrew Chikotas, 52, on a felony assault charge as well as a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.
Troopers were called to a domestic dispute at a Millbrook residence and found that he struck the victim in the head with a lamp causing a laceration to her scalp and a broken arm.
Chikotas fled the apartment before the police arrived, but was located a short time later and jailed in lieu of $40,000 cash bail or $80,000 bond.
The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie by Millbrook Rescue Squad.
