Teacher at state prison charged with possessing contraband

CATSKILL – A civilian vocational instructor at the Greene Correctional Facility was arrested and charged with promoting prison contraband as a felony.
State Police were notified after corrections officers at the prison conducted a search of people entering and discovered that Russell Kalney, 34, of Ravena, was in possession of four coping saw blades and a metal fork.
Kalney was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $1,200 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
