PORT JERVIS – A Port Jervis man, who had recently moved to Hawaii for work, drowned off Oahu Monday evening.
Officials said Tajhee Williams, 19, was swept off rocks by a wave near Halona Blowhole Lookout, a few miles outside Honolulu. A friend who was with him held onto rocks until he was rescued.
A search was conducted by helicopter and boats until sunset on Monday. It was resumed on Tuesday morning and Williams’ body was recovered near the lookout.
This is not the first time someone lost their life at that location,
a popular stop. Three people were washed into the sea by waves crashing
on land in that vicinity on two separate occasions.
