POUGHKEEPSIE – City officials
in Poughkeepsie will be watching the emails today or tomorrow.
City Administrator Milo Bunyi told the Common Council Monday night that the state comptroller’s office will release an update on its “Stressed Cities” report, showing that Poughkeepsie’s condition is improving.
“For the first two years they were looked at, was a ‘significant stress’.  They upgraded us for 2014 to a ‘moderately stressed’ city.”
Bunyi said if the upward trend continues, in the long run, the city could save money on new bonding.
For now, however, Bunyi said the pending news shows the city is on the right track to a better financial footing.
