CIRCLEVILLE – A Crawford Town Police officer has died after being rushed to Orange Regional Medical Center Thursday afternoon.
Sgt. Eric Meier, 51, suffered an apparent heart attack during an investigation in the woods in Circleville. The sergeant was administered CPR by a fellow officer who was with him off Lybolt Road in the Town of Wallkill.
Meier, who was a 26-year member of the police force, was also a member of the Pine Bush School Board.
As the word of Meier’s passing spread, condolences came in from police and fire departments across the region.
