Port Jervis gets grant from Orange County to promote economic development

PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis received a $25,000 check from Orange County to help revitalize the city.
The money will be used to purchase and install safety lighting for the Delaware River Bridge as well as two solar lit pedestrian crossing signals, said Mayor Kelly Decker.
“The City of Port Jervis is a vital part of our county,”
said County Executive Steven Neuhaus.  “This money went with
helping pedestrian traffic, which is to helping the urban renewal of cities
like Port Jervis, helping pedestrians crossing the street in a safe manner.
That all helps towards increasing and revitalizing these communities.”
Decker and County Legislator Thomas Faggione accepted the check from Neuhaus on Tuesday.
