Mount Vernon warrant sweep nets 32 arrests

MOUNT VERNON – Westchester
County law enforcement concluded a seven-month investigation with the
arrests of known gang members with violent criminal histories in Mount
Vernon.

Many of the 32 suspects are known gang members with violent criminal histories.
All of the arrestees face felony charges of criminal sale of a controlled
substance.

Six of them were connected to illegal narcotics sales that took place
inside of “OK Freddies” Meat Market at 132 4th Avenue. In
addition to the sale charges, three face felony charges of criminal possession
of drugs after they were found in possession of illegal narcotics at the
time of their arrests.

The investigation was conducted by the Mount Vernon Police Department
and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.

Police said more arrests are expected. The FBI assisted in the investigation.
