Clintondale man charge with throwing girlfriend out of vehicle

NEW PALTZ – A Clintondale man is charged with felony assault after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend while in a van in New Paltz and then threw her out of the vehicle.
After the incident on Saturday, August 29, the woman approached a patrolling New Paltz Police reporting the attack on Plattekill Avenue.
The victim sustained facial and neck injuries and was transported by New Paltz Rescue Squad members MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Plattekill Police located the suspect, Roynaldo Contreras, 60, of Clintondale,
on Sunday, August 30 and turned him over to New Paltz Police. He is in
the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond pending
a future court appearance.
