POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Plenty grassroots group has collected survey responses from Poughkeepsie mayoral and common council candidates to learn how they feel about addressing food insecurity in the community.
Survey responses are on poughkeepsieplenty.org.  Group co-convener Susan Grove said they should help voters decided who to cast ballots for in the September10 primary.
“We are really excited to be able to share this information so that they will be able to make decisions about who to elect in the primaries and the general election based on what candidates are really thinking about what they might like to do about these issues, which are really root causes of food hunger so they are not just specific issues,” Grove said. “They are about transportation and economic issues that underlie hunger in our city.”
There are Democratic and Republican primary elections for mayor in Poughkeepsie next week.
