New York man dies after 30-foot fall into Hudson River

STAATSBURG– A 34-year-old
Queens man sustained fatal injuries when he walked off the trail into
the woods at the Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park in Staatsburg and fell
30 feet to his death into the Hudson River.

The state Parks Department identified the victim of the early Saturday
morning incident as Shahedul Kahn.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and State Park Police recovered
the body after the 2:15 a.m. incident. State Park Police are continuing
their investigation and an autopsy was to be conducted to determine the
cause of death.
