Armed robber holds up gas station

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Police in the Town of Newburgh are investigating an armed gas station robbery that occurred at the Gulf gas station at 5462 Route 9W.  The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday when a man walked into the store with what appeared to be a shotgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money.
The suspect fled on foot northbound on Route 9W with an unknown amount of cash.
He was described as wearing a black ski mask, gray, long-sleeve sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.  He appeared to be about five-feet, 10 inches to six feet talk with a stocky build.
Anyone with information is asked to call Newburgh Town Police at 845-564-1100.
A City of Newburgh Police K-9 unit and State Police assisted at the scene.
