Police arrest second suspect in Plattekill attack on woman

HAMLET OF WALLKILL – Police captured a second man wanted in connection with an attack on a woman at the Modena Country Club in Plattekill early on Tuesday, August 18.
James Collazo, Jr., 19, of the hamlet of Wallkill surrendered to the New York Police Department in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, August 25. Officers were attempting to locate him when he turned himself in.  He is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
Another suspect, a 17-year-old male from Plattekill, was arrested hours after the attack on the 21-year-old woman. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and is eligible for youthful offender status.
The woman was semi-conscious when officers found her. She told officers she was attacked stemming from a dispute between two groups of men earlier in the evening.
She was treated at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for injuries to her face and body.
