STANFORD – State Police are investigating
a one-car fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway by Nine Partners Road
in Stanford early Thursday morning.
An investigation indicated the driver, whose name police did not yet make
public, was traveling northbound in a 1999 Ford at about 3:30 a.m when
he ran off the road and struck a tree.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical
Examiner’s Office.
Police are unsure if alcohol or drugs contributed to the cause of the
crash.
There were no other passengers in the car.
State Police were assisted by the Stanford Fire Department and Rescue
Squad and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
