WALDEN – A man walking his dog on Pond Road near Marty Besdesky Park in Walden was struck from behind by a woman who was charged with DWI.
The 55-year-old man was rushed to St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for
treatment. The dog, which was also struck, ran off and was later taken
in by a neighbor.
Walden Village Police arrested the driver, Jill McCormick, 55, of Walden, and charged her with DWI for having a blood-alcohol content of .10 percent, above the legal limit of .08 percent. She was also charged with vehicular assault.
The incident occurred on August 13, but was reported by the police on August 19.
