ALBANY – Twelve-month figures of job
growth in the Hudson Valley/Catskills for July show Greene County had
the highest expansion at 1.9 percent.
The Orange-Rockland-Westchester Metropolitan Division came in second with
1.3 percent job growth while Ulster County followed with 1.3 percent growth.
That was followed by the Dutchess-Putnam Metro Division with 0.6 percent
job growth and Sullivan County with 0.5 percent growth.
For the 12-month period, jobs increased by 10,500, or 1.4 percent, to
780,300.
Jobs were added in educational and health services; leisure and hospitality;
other services; trade, transportation and utilities; and construction.
Job losses were felt in financial activities; manufacturing; information;
and professional and business services. The government sector shed 1,000.
