Day care worker arrested in child abuse case

MIDDLETOWN – State Police arrested a Middletown woman on eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The Orange County Child Abuse Unit arrested Kesha Perry, 47, following an investigation of a report to the state Child Abuse Hotline. The investigation was conducted in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services. It revealed Perry operated a daycare center at her home in Middletown and became aware of the abuse of four children, ranging in age from four to 11 years old. It is alleged that she failed to take appropriate action on behalf of the children.
Perry was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond.
Orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victims in the investigation.
