KINGSTON – The Ulster County Legislature is considering campaign finance reform that would limit the amount elected officials may receive from county vendors.
Lawmaker Richard Parete, chairman of the Laws and Rules Committee, supports the measure.
“It would limit the elected officials, the legislators, with two-year terms could collect up to $500 every two years in their election cycle from vendors of the county,” Parete said.  “The elected officials who are elected to four-year terms would be limited to $1,000 in the four years, $250 a year.”
The legislature will hold a public hearing on the proposal on October 14.
