Man arrested for vehicle break-ins

POUGHKEEPSIE – An early morning arrest on Monday led Poughkeepsie City Police to resolve several automobile break-in cases.
At about 1:52 a.m., police received a call from a Garfield Place resident reporting that someone had stolen tools from his truck within the past 45 minutes.
When in route to the call, the officer located a suspect in the area of Barclay Street and Garfield Place. The officer located several tools in the bushes near where he was interviewing the man. They were identified as those belonging to the person who reported the theft.
Further investigation revealed Londell Dyson, 26, of Poughkeepsie, was allegedly involved in several other recent vehicle break-ins.
Dyson was charged with one count of burglary and four counts of criminal possession of stolen property, all as felonies, and two counts of petit larceny as misdemeanors. Police said additional charges are possible.
