KIRYAS JOEL – A Honduran national, who was deported from the US while in Colorado two years ago, was arrested Saturday morning by the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Department for allegedly burglarizing an occupied residence on Getzel Berger Boulevard.
Authorities said Bergen Perez, 24, who was working in the village, allegedly broke into the home around 6 a.m. where a nurse was tending to a woman on a respirator and tried to choke the caregiver.
Perez was turned over to State Police and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
