HIGHLAND – A Highland woman is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond after she allegedly stole a check from a relative, made it out for $10,000 and cashed it.
State Police said Michelle Cadena, 38, returned to the same relative’s home days later, planted narcotic evidence and called 911 to suggest that the relative was unfit to care for a fellow juvenile relative.
Cadena was charged with grand larceny and tampering with physical evidence, both as felonies, and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.
