MIDDLETOWN – Fei Tian College, the
Chinese-American arts and music college headquartered in Cuddebackville,
is contemplating expanding its plans for a satellite campus at the former
Middletown Psychiatric Center.
The school plans to redevelop Woodman Hall and other facilities on the Middletown campus to accommodate 300 to 400 students, but Mayor Joseph DeStefano said the college is looking at a much larger facility.
“The school is an accredited school in New York State,” DeStefano said. “They are affiliated with the production you see at Lincoln Center and worldwide – the Shen Yun production. It is an excellent school of fine arts, media and dance.”
Once the project receives final planning board approval, the mayor said the college hopes to open its doors in Middletown shortly thereafter.
