MIDDLETOWN – The third fire in recent months broke out Wednesday
afternoon at the former Middletown Psychiatric Center in Middletown.
This time, the blaze was in the Solomon Kleiner Rehabilitation Center
building at 4 Harriett Tubman Drive, constructed in 1968.
Fire officials are investigating to determine if it was the work of a
serial arsonist.
Within the last several weeks, a large vacant building that was fenced
in was destroyed by flames. That brick structure had to be razed.
Weeks before, another fire raged at the former facility.
