MILAN – A 53-year-old Milan man was
killed in a one-car accident on the Taconic State Parkway just north of
Ferris Road in Milan. The crash killing George Wendover, Jr. occurred
around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
State Police at Livingston said Wendover was driving a 2003 Dodge Durango
at a high rate of speed when he reportedly lost control, ran off the road,
up an earth embankment and struck a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s
Office.
State Police were assisted by the Milan Fire Department and Rescue Squad
and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Wendover was the sole occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
