WHITE PLAINS – A former producer with the “Law and Order” TV show was charged Thursday in Westchester County with felony promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
Jason Alexander, 51, of Dobbs Ferry, was charged with possessing and file-sharing obscene performances of sexual conduct by children under the age of 17.
On July 24, an investigator from the Westchester District Attorney’s Office downloaded child pornography from an IP address in Westchester. The DA’s office began an investigation, secured a subpoena, and determined the IP address was assigned to Alexander’s home.   A search warrant was secured and executed at his residence where computers and external hard drives revealed digital files of children under the age of 16 engaged in child pornography.
Alexander was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.  If convicted, he faces up to seven years in state prison.
