Bodenheimer

NEW CITY – A Monsey rabbi, who was the principal of a boy’s yeshiva in Monsey, has pled guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor.
Gabriel Bodenheimer, 72, was indicted one year ago on charges that he had sexually abused a boy at the school.
As part of a plea deal, he will be sentenced in October to three years probation. A permanent order of protection in favor of the child was issued by the court prohibiting any contact by Bodenheimer, who will also be required to resign all positions associated with any schools to which he is affiliated and is prohibited from entering any school while on probation.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe was contacted by the boy’s parents asking that he accept the plea deal to spare the child the pain of testifying publicly about his traumatic experience and to allow him to advance in therapy.
