YONKERS – A 22-year-old Bronx man was
killed in an early morning motorcycle accident on I-87 near McLean Avenue
in Yonkers on Friday.

State Police said the operator, who was identified as Roberto Santiago,
was riding a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound in the highway at a high
rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a concrete
median barrier.

The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and died. The bike continued
for about one-tenth of a mile and burst into flames. Yonkers firefighters
extinguished the flames and assisted in traffic control.

The accident remains under investigation.
