KINGSTON – A man, who drove drunk crashing into another car in
the Town of Rosendale, killing a 50-year-old female driver and injuring
her 19-year-old son, was sentenced in Ulster County Court on Thursday
to two to six years in state prison.
Tyler Grable, 23, of Cottekill, was driving at 7 p.m. on September 26, 2014 when he struck the other vehicle at the intersection of Cottekill Road and Lucas Avenue.
Ulster District Attorney Holley Carnright said the incident was tragic.
“There is a woman who is in her car running out to get a pizza with her son in the car and she is killed by a drunk driver, a fellow who had been out partying all day, drinking and smoking pot. It’s terribly sad,” Carnright said.
Grable pled guilty in May to charges of manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault.
