GOSHEN – Tuesday marked five days since a terrorist killed five service members in Chattanooga and President Obama ordered flags on government facilities flown at half-staff.  Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued the same directive for New York State
State Senator William Larkin lowered the American flag outside his New Windsor office Tuesday morning in memory of those unarmed members.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus also ordered all flags on county property to be lowered in honor of the four Marines and Navy officer killed by a terrorist.
“This tragedy has proven that the war against terror isn’t just taking place overseas,” Neuhaus, a Naval Reserve officer, said Tuesday.   Lowering the flag “is a small way to show that we stand solidly behind the service and sacrifice of our military personnel.”
