POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in Poughkeepsie are investigating a report of a woman who witnessed two dead dogs in the trunk of a car while she was at the Balloon Fest Saturday evening.
The woman told police she had witnessed two people open the trunk of their car and discover their two dogs were dead. The people got into the vehicle and drove off, but not before the witness was able to get a photo of the vehicle.
The vehicle was not found, but a computer check determined it is registered to a New York City address.
Police are investigating the incident and are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to call them at 845-451-7577.
